I have decided that people who are Microsoft Office inept are evil. My boss is driving me nuts!!!! I am only going to be here for 3 months, she is giving me stuff to do that will take me 6-9!!!! (groan) I want to get as much done as possible because I would like a job when I graduate college, ya know??? My main objective was to create a centralized location for their various reports used on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. There are 7 different types of reports and there have to be a total of a little over 1,000. Then I am supposed to be creating workflows that explain how all the procedures work. Then I am supposed to leave documentation on how to create hypertext links in excel, etc. Okay, fair enough. NOW THEY WANT ME TO DESIGN THEIR LAN BASE!!!! (roll eyes) Like it is my fault no one thought of that before they created the lan area! Apparently, there are MANY duplicate copies around. So if a person finds one and updates it, the other one doesn't get updated, so you know how that works out. (sigh)...not only that...how can a person work on a computer day in and day out and not know basic things about MS Office? This lady I work with (she is reallllllly sweet) created this LONG word document, created her own table of contents. I am talking this document is like...200 pages! So...to find something the person has to look at the table contents and scroll to that page. She doesn't know how to insert a TOC...so I asked if she would like me to do that for her, so I did. She likes it much better now. Apparently...since I did this, I now have to explain how to do it. Why can't they just go to the help function in word? Hmph...

I should get back to work... :p

You realize that 90% of Office application users use less than 10% of the features available, right?

Computers, in their true form, are supposed to be powerful work saving devices. Unfortunately, computers in the workplace decrease productivity, because nobody knows how to use them.

Oh it gets worse Eric...they are asking me to do things in Excel that I am not even sure are possible. Can you link 7 worksheets to 1?

I don't know shit about Excel, except its the number one database software on the market. That's right, database. You probably should have them move it into access.
