I'd always thought Brisbane-ites were usually a bit 'odd' .. you get some nice folks up there; but in general they can be a bit insular up in Queensland :)

Dubya
I had an epihany of sorts about the Commander-in-Chief: He's like the friend you hang around with cause you feel bad for him then he starts picking fights with everyone in the bar and you become hated cause you came there with him. Hmmmm?

Re: Dubya
haha...I like that epiphany...I had someone tell me that he references Americans as being: "self-absorbed.. unaware of the outside world"

haha...then I was like, "Hey now!" and he said, "Hey...it's your president's fault"

Rob...he's making us look bad! ;)

*lol* Yea they are a bit different than other parts of the country I noticed...I think it's because they get to much sun on the brain all year long! *lol* I at least lucked out and got some great roommates (flatmates) so it wasn't to bad but I did meet some pretty "interesting" people while I was there! *lol*

Well, I never thought it was that much sunnier than other places like WA - just a lot more humid! :) It's good that you lucked out well though! :)

Oh yes I hear you on the humidity...I remember getting off the plane and I swore I was having trouble breating! It was SO humid and coming from Minnesota (USA) where it's 0 degrees F in the winter and only about 85 degrees F in the summer Brisbane was HOT!! *lol* I did get lucky though with my roommates... I was nervous meeting them but I got super lucky and ended up with some wonderful life long friends!

Where do you live at? I traveled alot of Aussie and really enjoyed visiting down in NSW and Victoria and places farther south since it reminded me more of home! :)

Well I've lived all over... Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Tassie, Qld - all depends on work. Right now I'm in Victoria though :)

It's a sunny 26 degrees today (no idea waht that is in F though)

Boy how did you get so lucky to travel so much...what do you do for work that you travel so much? Victoria..my roommate from when I was at the University of Minnesota back home here did a study abroad to Victoria and fell totally inlove with it...he said he wanted to move back there someday! I didn't make it there but wanted to..it's on one of my places to visit when I come back! Out of all the places you have lived, whats your favorite!?!

ps...26 degrees C is equal to 79 degrees F :) (thank goodness for online conversions! *lol* )

I've also been to the US for work too :)

Umm.. out of all the places, easily Western Australia (Perth).... best beaches in the world, great weather (warm without being humid), and lots of fit people (I love my sport!)

Boy I'm jealous...I've not traveled that much...I've traveled throughout most of the US but the only counties besides the US I've been to are Canada (and that doesn't count since I only live 4 hours south by car from the border), England, New Zealand and Australia...I love traveling and wish I could do more of it! How do you get to travel so much?? What do you do for a job that allows you to travel?

How is it that Perth isn't as humid as the other cities in Australia? I know the east coast of the US can be just as humid as the west coast...I wonder why that is Perth isn't so humid!
