Thought for the Day

Apparently at lunch yesterday me stating this obvious revelation surprised many, what can I say? I have duende.

As you get older it is more difficult to do things that are considered to be extreme, where the probability of dying is greater (exempli gratia: rock climbing then skiing down a sharp incline, bungee cord jumping, et cetera) because as one gets older one begins to think of others lives and not just his own. One would finally begin to think, "Wait...if something happened to me, what about my family, my children, my parents, my brothers/sisters?"

The factors of maturity are astounding, oh how one changes when he has reached that stage in life where he finally comes to the realization that, yes, his actions affect others, whether on a grandiose scale or minor one. In short? As one gets older he realizes that he has much to lose, much to live for, and yet more so, much more to achieve.
