Rephrase of the Question yesterday...

What is the difference from a "boy" and a "man"

For example...would one be less of a man if he were to abandon people who counted on him? i.e. Friends, Family...etc...

The general question I am trying to ask is, what is the determining factor in behavior that makes a man a man

Re:
It really depends on one's values. In the inner city, fighting might be a prime indicator of one's manhood, taking on anyone who disses them, whereas others might consider it more manly to walk away from a fight.

Your example has little to do with manliness, but is a general human attitude question.

In every set of values there are many factors that determine one's "manliness". There's not one single trait.

haha...Perhaps a better question would be...what makes an "Adult" and "Adult"

Re:
Ability to temper one's emotions and desires with clear, logical thinking, listen to advice and counsel, and take into consideration the statistical and emotional consequences of their actions before taking them, perhaps even holding back from acting because of proper use of forethought. Many people have knowledge. Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge to benefit oneself. Failure to act on what one knows decassifies one as wise.
