(sigh) What a day…

Let's see…

Job job job
This morning I got here a wee bit late… :( I am so freaking tired…my own fault I know. I was up until 1AM playing FFX…

Honestly, one would think the later you leave the house the earlier it would be! Unfortunately, it appears that traffic is shitty from 6AM-10AM…(shake head) Gotta love working 36 miles away from home…and catching 3 major freeways to get here…lol…did I mention? Highway 167, I-405, 520…fun, huh?

Okay, so I haven't mentioned this, but for the past month I have been experiencing some pain in my hand and a little in my forearm. So, I spoke with my manager and she had some "ergo" guy come and look at my situation. He drops my chair (which I had high in the first place because I couldn't reach the computer comfortably. For those of you who don't know, I am 5'2"), raises my computer 2 inches, drops my desk an inch, and he changed my key board to one of those "natural keyboards". I love this keyboard more than my other one.

It is sort of weird to sit so low, however, this is good because my feet touch the ground now…lol…

Let's see, more update about the job I applied for. She (the HR lady) asked me if I could work full time, I let her know that I could work full-time starting January 2003, but only if they were willing to work with my school schedule. I guess she didn't understand that, I received an e-mail today asking me the question again, just phrased differently. I was like…"uh, what the hell does she want me to say?" So, I tried to give her a call and ended up leaving a message. It would be nice to have a full-time job before I am out of school. So I am thinking I will try to give her a ring again sometime tomorrow morning. Oh well…I hope it works out…I would really like this position, it sounds like a great opportunity.

So…not many of you know this, but there is a reason I no longer ride bicycles…however, I have decided to get back on one. Funny thing is, I am not getting back on to face my fears, I am getting back on for my legs. LOL…I know that sounds ridiculous beyond belief, but I am serious! I am going to start biking daily for 6 miles. It sure beats walking 6 miles…blegh…

Weird siting Driving to work
err…okay, so there was this Truck and behind it there was a van that had a sign on it that said, "OVERSIZE LOAD"…well okay that wasn't the weird part…I guess this truck is SO big that there was another drive underneath the cargo in the back…I guess he steered the wheels in front of him and behind him??? I don't know…it was weird!

Why do I like Country?
haha…now there is an interesting question…today one of the country singers, Darryl Worley, came on and talked about the song he sings, I Miss My Friend . Apparently, when he was signing autographs a fan came up to him and said,
"If it weren't for this song I don't know if I would have been able to make it the past few months. My wife passed away a few months ago. She died in a car accident." :( That is so sad…he was in his mid-twenties. Apparently, he had come across the accident on the way home. OMG I can't even begin to imagine my feelings if that were me, I would be hysterical. So the reason that I love country is because I am able to relate to many of the songs and the meaning behind the words. I know many people think, "Oh well country, is just about losing your dog, your wife, being in jail, etc" However, the newer country really isn't like that all. It is hard to explain…it touches a part of my soul listening to some of the songs. So much so, that I cry…rarely! However, there are a couple of songs that make me cry because it reminds me of an incident in my own life. Now, here is the part that makes the song enjoyable: I know that I am not alone. That I am not the only person in the world who has felt in that particular way. It just puts things back into perspective for me. :) I don't get much from rap, because most of the time they are talking about things I have no idea about…(shrug)

Labor Day
Can't wait until Friday!! Woohoo…3 day weekend here I come!

Hmm…good news, we spoke yesterday and he told me that he will be calling me again tonight :)

similarities between rap and country
Yeah, I love country for all those reasons too... I can pay attention to the story, and am captivated by it; it's always very beautiful. The words flow in a way they don't for regular pop music. The rhymes are usually very clever. I love it!

I like rap for some of the same reasons. Some of it makes me laugh, and some of the rhyming is just awesome. It's a different kind of talent, but that's TALENT, man. I like it for a few things it doesn't share with country, too, like that some of it just has a damn good beat, it kicks. I don't understand most of what they're talking about either, so I hear you there, but the music just sounds cool to me. And again, a lot of the less serious stuff just cracks me up.

if its the pinky, etc, you've got RSI, otherwise, its carpal-tunnel

you've not seen those before? the load is so long, that its difficult to maneuver, so the rear wheels also have steering so the load can make it around corners easily
